Why First Comes Love?

Picture
First Comes Love... then comes a bunch of other decisions.
First Comes Love... then comes WEDDING.
First Comes Love... then comes a choice to keep loving...

Let’s face it, the average wedding costs about $35,000 in the US, but that’s just not feasible for everyone who would like to be married. There is nothing wrong with wanting a beautiful wedding. There’s nothing wrong with paying for good, quality vendors (and we're friends with some great ones!). We just want to help you make decisions that are comfortable for you and your fiancé. We'll help you keep the important things top of mind: where do I want to splurge, where can you stand to save, what's not worth a disagreement over?

Your engagement should be a time of joy, not stress. It should also be a time of growth in your relationship, which may come with some tension, but hopefully none that makes you question your decision. We are here to help support you at this special time. First Comes Love is not just another wedding vendor; we take it very seriously to be a part of helping you two come together in marriage! We're here for you!

Why Does Love
Come First?

At First Comes Love, we believe that love should be the first response in every situation. Not only in marriage, but in all things. We believe that Love first loved us (1 John 4:19) and in return, our response should be to know Love, love Love, and love others. We believe that God is love and defines his love clearly (John 3:16, 1 Corinthians 13 --am I missing any popular wedding scriptures?)

About The Owner

My name is Shunda Collins, formerly known as Shunda Watts. I was married to my husband Matt on New Year's Eve! We had a very inexpensive, grandly beautiful, and "stupid" fun wedding (Matt's words in quotes, not mine). Our pre-marital counseling was world class! However, though we felt prepared and excited about marriage, experience is the best teacher. We know that life and marriage is not always the fairy-tale it is portrayed to be on Facebook. It is an investment; it is a process, it is a choice, and it is a risk! On average, for one reason or another, most Americans who take the risk only end up lasting 8 years. :-( .. My hope is that all who desire to get married will take that time to invest just as much time (if not more) preparing for a lifelong marriage as they do the short-term wedding event. Though marriage is an investment that requires work, in time it yields great reward. I seek to be a support to my clients before and after the wedding, connecting them to resources that will help them achieve life-long success.
